I was blown away by the insight and tactical advice that WordPlay T. Jay shared in this episode. After struggling with depression, he found music. That passion grew inside of him, and he knew that he could share his gift with the world and spread happiness and a message of positivity in a genre typically filled with violence.
WordPlay T. Jay broke through after hustling his way onto MTV’s RapFix.
What surprised me in this interview, was his insight into music is a skill that anyone can learn.
If you work hard enough, anything can be learned and perfected. It is just about getting on stage.

A little over a week ago, I had shared one of the lessons from Disrupt You on Instagram, when Jay Samit reached out to me to say thank you. Less than a week later, I had the opportunity to interview him on The Happiness of Pursuit Podcast.
Through Disrupt You, Jay challenges readers to rethink their traditional approach to business and shatters any excuses that may be standing in your way. That advice is followed by tactical steps you can take today to being thinking like many of the billionaire entrepreneurs Jay has coached in his career.
One of the most simple, yet practical exercises he recommends is “to write down 3 problems you face every day. After a month, you have 90 ideas, and a theme will likely emerge. The bigger the problem, the bigger the opportunity.”
What really blew me away, was the way he reframed the solution, “when you don’t know how to solve that problem, find something that does…”
Steve Jobs didn’t know how to code, and he created the largest tech company in the world.
Here is an interview with Impact Theory where Jay Samit dives deep into his book:

We help You figure out what you want and make it happen in your career!
On today’s episode, we talk a lot about how Scott made a career out of career change. He started out as an entrepreneur in college, which led to a pretty good business, but like many others after graduation thought it was time “to get a real job.”
Like many entrepreneurs, Scott eventually realized that no “job” would ever fulfill the entrepreneurial desire and it was time for him to make a career change back to entrepreneurship.
What you will learn in this episode of The Happiness of Pursuit Podcast:
How to make a career change at any age
The importance of finding a passion or purpose
Some of the struggles you can anticipate as an entrepreneur
How to make a career change, or start a business, the right way by including your spouse early in the process (this was a big one for me!)
